February 10, 2018 — We added a new recurring segment this week that we’re calling “Shocked but not surprised”– it’s our way of calling out the appalling things that are now happening as a matter of course that just. aren’t. normal… and just aren’t right.
This week, it’s about the abominable way Trump is representing the nation as a whole (that is, after all, part of the president’s job) through his statements and actions… and the complicity of our other so-called leaders in this ongoing shit show.
Do Your Jobs, Dammit!
“Do your jobs, dammit! Do your jobs!” was the Jane Doe battle hymn of 2017.
What happened to diplomacy, eloquence, decisiveness and compassion in leadership? We ponder shithole countries — the shot heard around the world — and the blatant (repeated) racism. Asking whether he’s a racist is not the right question.
And, a bright spot: Washington Post reports that Washington State may help us save our democracy due to its forward-thinking voting laws and changes in campaign financing.
Take a listen… and then tell us what you think in the comments below.
